Post Workout Re-Fuel

You just had an intense workout. Your bragging to your friends that you burned 500 calories or you lifted 5% more weight. Refueling the body is a necessity! Your muscles need to recover, your body needs hydration and replenishment of needed vitamins and minerals.  Are you  picking the right foods? Think protein, good fats and fiber and everything else will fall into place. The best foods to eat are:

  • Eggs- protein
  • Nuts-protein and fats
  • Cheese-protein and fats
  • Beets- iron
  • Apples-fiber
  • Dried Fruit-fiber

Combining these together to get the satisfaction of feeling full and building the body back up is the best way to go.  You can add a small serving of complex carbs as well such as crackers. Don’t forget the water!
